- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ I am incredibly disappointed to have to write this negative review. I booked an appointment with a financial adviser at this TD for January 23rd to switch all my banking from cibc to td. I spoke with the representative about different visa options specifically about the aeroplan vs first class card. She informed me that I should take the aeroplan card this year as there is a promotion that gives 30 000 welcome miles and has no annual fee. She went as far as to say that I could switch to the first class card next year if I wanted. I clearly went with the free card with bonus miles. 1 month later I received a charge on my credit card of $120 which is the annual fee and I checked my aeroplan miles and I only had 15 000. I called in to the Td support line and was originally informed that I would have the $120 fee refunded after the "3rd statement." I said ok to that but then inquired about the welcome miles. The representative informed me that that promotion expired Decemeber 3rd. I explained that I made an appointment and went in physically to a branch and I was told this by someone who had an office and worked there. I'm not sure if the representative was confused and there was no promotion at the time, or that they just wanted to sign me that moment with incorrect/unethical information. The individual on the phone spoke with their "manager" (I put that in quotes because they could not give me their name or the name of a manager and would not send me an email indicating that the conversation had occurred), the managers decision was that I would have to book an appointment with the branch manager of the bank to explain that I was given this information by their representative. I called in not wanting to argue but was forced into a spot where I would need to pretty much go to the principle and tattle on a kid who punched me behind the monkey bars. I am not lieing and hate being in a spot where I now have to "plead my case." I have spent $4000 in 3 weeks with Td as I use the credit card for personal and business expenses. I am appalled that nothing could be done over the phone and that the only course of action is that I have to take more time out of my life to fix their mess up. Td is a business that "prides" itself on customer service. I am embarrassed that I fell for the lie and if nothing is rectified and more shortly, will be taking my business back to cibc.
